Where: Robert Gray gym
To celebrate Veterans Day at Robert Gray Elementary, we will be honoring our veterans in multiple ways:
Star tribute: All Robert Gray families are encouraged to decorate a star to honor a veteran. The stars will be displayed in the hallways during the Veterans Day assembly. Stars are due back to the classroom teacher or office by Friday, November 6. Additional stars are available in the office.
PTO feathers: This year PTO has also sent home a "feather" for students to decorate that will be used in a fun patriotic turkey display in our front hallway. Feathers should be returned by Monday, November 2 to the office.
Invite a veteran to the Robert Gray Veterans Day assembly: The date and time of the assembly will be Tuesday, November 10 at 9:30 a.m. Each military branch will be introduced at the assembly. Uniforms are optional, but would be appreciated by all. If you have a local family member who is a veteran, please make an effort to participate in this way. This tribute is a powerful way to make Veterans Day more relevant in our students’ lives. Since all Robert Gray students will be participating in this assembly, space is limited. We ask that each family limit attendance to their veterans and one guest in order to accommodate everyone safely in the gym. Please RSVP your veteran by calling the office to save their seat.
Wear red, white and blue: Students are encouraged but not required to wear patriotic clothing such as red, white and/or blue the day of the assembly.
