OKANOGAN – This fall, 18 hunters will have the rare chance to hunt white-tailed and mule deer on the 6,000-acre Charles and Mary Eder unit of the Scotch Creek Wildlife Area, located just east of Oroville in northeastern Okanogan County.
“This annual draw offers hunters a chance to experience a unique hunt in north central Washington,” said Brock Hoenes, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) North Central Region director. “It’s open to all hunters, with no additional cost beyond the applicable deer hunting license and standard tags.”

Application period: July 15–July 31, 2026 (closes at 11:59 p.m.)
Permits available: 18 total, selected by random drawing in August
Draw results will be available on WDFW’s website the last week of August. Hunters who are drawn will receive an access permit and a boundary map in the mail.
