The Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) uses two structures to keep decision making local:
Local Advisory Teams (LATs)
Regional Intermediaries
These partners guide decisions in Washington’s 12 workforce regions to ensure that CRP funding decisions are community driven, transparent and aligned with state equity goals.
Local Advisory Teams
Local Advisory Teams (LATs) are made up of trusted community members who guide grant decisions. They review and score applications, recommend funding and participate in community listening sessions. They ensure that funding decisions reflect local knowledge and the needs of the community.
The CRP team is currently establishing the 12 LATs across Washington. Current LAT rosters are posted on the CRP website and updated as new members join.
North Central region: Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Okanogan counties
Please complete the LAT application form to express interest in serving on a LAT.
While LATs currently focus on violence prevention, they may advise on future CRP investments. This includes economic development, legal assistance, reentry services or agricultural support.
Regional Intermediaries
Regional intermediaries are partner groups that help run Local Advisory Teams and fair grantmaking in each of Washington’s 12 workforce regions. They are chosen for their community connections, capacity and focus on equity. They create easy applications, offer technical help, manage grants, check on subrecipients and make sure work is safe, fair and compliant. They also report results and share what they learn across the state.
Intermediaries work under contract with Commerce. This June, the agency selected eight successful applicants.
Intermediaries have not yet been selected in four regions: Olympic, Snohomish, North Central and Benton Franklin.
Together, Local Advisory Teams and Regional Intermediaries help keep CRP decisions local. When local voices lead the way, programs are more meaningful and effective.
