Members of the Killer Whales Swim Club (KWSC) swam at the Beat the Summer Heat meet in Astoria the weekend of Aug. 3 and 4.

The event was hosted by the North Coast Swim Club (NWSC). Other teams competing included the Tualatin Hills Swim Club (THSC), the Lake Oswego (Ore.) Swim Club (LOSC) and the Sea Lions Swim Club (SLSC, out of St. Helens, Ore.).

Seven Killer Whales members placed.

Dylan Wirtz placed first in the boys 8 years old and younger 100 yard backstroke, 50-yard backstroke, 25-yard backstroke and 25-yard butterfly. He also placed second in the boys 8 years old and younger 25-yard backstroke and 25-yard freestyle.

Paige Wirtz placed fifth in the 11- to 12-year-old girls 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley.

Anakin Isenhart placed first in the 9- to 10-year-old boys 50-yard butterfly. He places second in the 9- to 10-year-old boys 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly and 50-yard breaststroke.

Harry Eugenis placed first in the 11- to 12-year-old boys 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle. He placed second in the 11- to 12-year-old boys 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard freestyle.

Jacee Davis placed fourth in the 13-to 14-year-old girls 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard breaststroke. She placed fifth in the 13- to 14-year-old girls 50-yard freestyle and she placed sixth in the 13- to 14-year-old girls 100-yard freestyle.

Angie Eugenis placed first in the 13- to 14-year-old girls 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.

Alyssa Davis placed first in the 15 years old and older 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 200 yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle. She placed second in the 15 years old and older 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke.

In addition, Paige Wirtz (backstroke), Jacee Davis (breaststroke), Alyssa Davis (butterfly) and Angie Eugenis (freestyle) took first place in the Open Girls 200 Medley Relay.
