The Jets replaced Robby Anderson with a reclamation project, agreeing to a one-year, $6 million deal with former first-rounder Breshad Perriman Tuesday hours after Anderson bolted for Carolina.

The 6-2, 215-pound Perriman was a bust for 3.5 seasons before coming alive in the final five games for the Buccaneers last year. He lasted just two years with the Ravens, who spent the No. 26 overall pick on him in 2016. Perriman suffered a knee injury that prevented him from playing as a rookie. He lasted less than a week in Washington before a disappointing season with the Browns.

He was a non-factor in Tampa before catching fire down the stretch when explosive starters Mike Evans and Chris Godwin went down with injuries. Perriman, who will turn 27 when the season begins, took advantage of his opportunity by racking up 506 yards and five touchdowns on 25 catches in the final five games. He eclipsed the 100-yard plateau in each of the final three weeks, including a memorable 113-yard, three-touchdown performance in Week 15 in Detroit that made plenty of fantasy football owners happy.

Perriman, who averaged 17.9 yards per catch en route to 36 catches for 645 yards and six touchdowns last year, is expected to provide the deep speed loss from Anderson's departure.
