Kelso volleyball rebounded from a tough season-opener to earn a 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 sweep over R.A. Long on Monday at Joe Moses Court.
The Lumberjills fell to 0-3, but got strong performances from McKenzie Hamer (eight digs), Courtney Conary (seven blocks) and Arianna Maryott (seven kills).

La Center 3, Kalama 1: The Chinooks showed marked improvement from last week, but still fell 25-15, 25-20, 25-27, 25-18 in the nonleague road contest. Marlee Vickers paced the offense with 17 kills, Kapio Wetmore tallied 11 kills and Taylor Tabor had 19 digs. “I think our ADs do a good job of scheduling top of the line nonleague games,” coach Jeni O’Neil said. “That’s what helps prepare teams like us, and helps us get better.”

Kalama 4, Napavine 0: Ryann Bailey scored twice and Melanie Martinez scored a goal and two assists in the Central 2B League home victory. Chloe Gould scored a goal and Kailey Shipley had an assist. Mary Morrell made one save for the shutout. Kalama (3-0) has four more games in the next nine days, starting with Onalaska on the road Wednesday.
