Winlock’s Jenna Jones twirled a no-hitter and struck out nine Ilwaco batters in claiming a 15-0 victory in five innings in the Southwest 2B District Softball Tournament on Monday at Fort Borst Park.

Winlock (15-5) plays Adna in a tournament quarterfinal game at 2 this afternoon at Fort Borst Park. Ilwaco ended its season at 5-8.

The Cardinals had 11 hits. Jones was 3-3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored, Makayla Allbritton was 2-5 with three runs, Raychel Squibb was 2-3 with three runs, and Addison Hall was 2-2 with two runs and two RBIs. Cheleena Squibb swatted a double, and Karlie Jones scored two runs.

Toledo 11, Raymond 1: Payson Hoiseck twirled a two-hitter and struck out five as the Indians won their first round game in the Southwest 2B District Tournament on Monday at Fort Borst Park.

Toledo (12-9) plays Toutle Lake in a tournament quarterfinal game at 2 this afternoon at Fort Borst Park.

The Indians scored three runs in the second inning, and four in the third inning for a 7-0 lead.

Abbie Marcil was 2-3 with her first-ever home run, driving in three runs. Genevieve Kalista was 2-3, and Kyleigh Holmes added two hits.

GOLF

Girls 3A Bi-District: Kelso’s Liz Dolan and Kelli Rakoz each carded scores above the cut line after the first day of the West-Central/Southwest Bi-District Tournament held Monday at McCormick Woods in Silverdale.

Dolan carded an 85, and Rakoz had 113.

2A District Tournament: R.A. Long golfer Josie Nickerson carded an 88 after the first round of the tournament held at the Lewis River Golf Course on Monday in Woodland.

Also for RAL, Piper Nguyen carded 99.

Grace Hedlund of Mark Morris had 90, and Woodland’s Abby Bozarth and Rayleah Trice had rounds of 93 and 95, respectively.

Boys 2B District: Ilwaco’s Blake Kukula carded a 69 during the opening round of the Southwest 2B District Championships held Monday at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course.

Also for Ilwaco, Tenyson Ramsey shot a 91, and Brenden Chabot added a 97.

The cut score to advance to the second day of play was 99. Ilwaco’s Charlie Short and Ethan Knopski each carded 101.

Girls 1A/2B District: Faith Richardson of Ilwaco paced the Fishermen with a round of 100 after the opening round of the Southwest 1A/2B District Championships held Monday at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course.

Also for Ilwaco, Gabby Bell had 103, and Maggie Jacobson added 109. The cut score to advance to the second day was 112, and Sunny Kemmer shot 115.

TENNIS

Castle Rock 4, Montesano 1: The Rockets wrapped-up the Southwest 1A League title with a victory over the Bulldogs on Monday in Castle Rock.

Madeline DelCastillo won her singles match 6-2, 2-6, 6-2, and Jenna LaFontaine also won in singles 6-4, 6-1. In doubles, Paige Mershon and Erica Thwaites won 5-7, 6-4, 7-6, and Hanna Lair and Megan Keeling were victorious 6-2, 6-1.

CR (12-2, 10-0 league) plays in the Southwest 1A District Tournament beginning Friday at Club Green Meadows in Vancouver.

2A Subdistrict: A doubles team and a singles player from Mark Morris qualified for the Southwest 2A District Championships after play in the subdistrict meet on Saturday at the Mint Valley Racquet Complex.

Maddy Pond and Chandra Lomax went 4-1 to place second in doubles, and Katie Troy qualified as the third seed after also going 4-1. Pond-Lomax are now 18-2, and Troy is 13-7.
