Sam Dawkins scored on a hustle goal in the 15th minute but Mark Morris fell 3-1 to Columbia River on Monday in Greater St. Helens 2A League play at Northlake Field. 

Dawkins scored on an assist from Ethan West. Eber Naverrete made eight saves and Owen Johnson had six saves. 

"Sam had a lot of energy and played well for us," coach Harold West said. "We almost made it 2-0 and their coach got a little nervous." 

River scored shortly before the half and then again in the 55th and 60th minutes. 

MM (2-5-1, 2-3 league) hosts R.A. Long on Wednesday at Northlake. 

Ridgefield 1, R.A. Long 0: Juan Reyes made three saves and the Lumberjacks played well but fell to the Spudders on the road Monday in GSHL 2A play. 

The Spudders scored in the 37th minute for the game's lone score. 

"We actually played really well," coach Max Anderson said. "We had plenty of pressure and opportunities." 

RAL (3-5-1, 2-3 league) plays Mark Morris at Northlake on Wednesday. 

Woodland 2, Washougal 0: The Beavers scoerd a goal in each half of a Greater st. Helens 2A League match on Monday.

Emmanuel Cruz scoerd off a feed from Jesse Thrall as the Beabers led 1-0 at halftime. Riley Suomi added an unassisted tally in the second half. Standout was JJ Fuerst, and Treyson Thrall had the shutout in goal with no saves.


Onalaska JV 20, Winlock 8: Nate Suhrbier continued his tear to start the season, going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI in the home defeat Monday. He's hitting over .600 on the year. 

It was the first game this season, the Cardinals went a full seven innings. 

"I'm proud of the guys getting there and accomplishing that," coach Jordan Nailon said. "We've experienced it, and now we have something to work toward."

Lukis Tamberello was 2-4 with a run and an RBI and Zach Prue was 2-3 with three RBIs and a run. Kadden Harrington reached base four times, going 2-2 with three runs.  

Ridgefield 4, Woodland 1: Wyatt Wooden hit a double and tossed five strong innings in a Greater St. Helens 2A League defeat to the Spudders on Monday. Wooden struck out three and allowed six hits and four runs. 

Christian Yager struck out two in a scoreless inning of work. The Beavers tallied just three hits, as Ryan Cooney and Trace Logan each had knocks. 

Woodland (5-6, 1-2 league) hosts R.A. Long on Wednesday.
