Attention all fisherman of the Columbia, Cowlitz, Kalama and Lewis rivers: Legislation is being introduced to Congress concerning the reduction in California sea lions. For years we have battling sea lions and seals from feasting on our fish. There populations are out of control from Astoria to Bonneville dam. Millions of dollars have been spent relocating these fish eating mammals only to have them returning in a matter of days. Nonlethal deterrents have also been ineffective. Six times legislation has been brought to congress to fix this problem and has failed. Now is the time to contact you state representative and express your support for this bill. If this problem isn't fixed shortly, we will have no fish to fight for. So if you feel like I do, then make your voice heard.
