As the organizer of Kids' Fish-In for the last eight years, I think it is time to recognize the pieces that make this event happen year after year.

First, as a member of Cowlitz Game and Anglers, I sought and received contributions and materials from mostly local companies, merchants, organizations and individuals. Most donors have repeatedly contributed to this event. These donations enabled the purchase of over 800 combos, which the kids keep, for the last two events. This year and in years ahead Longview Parks and Recreation Foundation will replace CG&A of this responsibility.

Second is the volunteers. Many of them come from local fishing clubs and many have been volunteering long than I have been involved.

Third is the Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. Every year they install fish corral netting, deliver trout and return after the last session to remove the net.

These are the unseen and possibly unappreciated groups that make this event happen year after year.
