This is in response to comments made at the commissioners' meeting held on Jan. 29 by Ms. Sarah East. Ms. East stated that the Constitution must change as we do. This is the Constitution as a living document. Let me share how I see the Constitution.

Yes, the Constitution is alive and well, although it is continually assailed by those who seek to change it so it fits their liberal agenda. The Constitution is alive because it's been nurtured with the blood of patriots for over 200 years. It's alive because it has stood the test of time, survived all attacks and it did so as written. In particular, the first 10 amendments. It's hard to amend the Constitution, and it should be, otherwise what happened in Germany in the 1930s could happen here.
