Defining safety and security for school buildings and setting board goals are on the agenda for the Longview School Board’s full-day retreat on Friday.

The retreat is a special study session held in the administration building board room at 2715 Lilac St. in Longview. The majority of the meeting is open to the public.

Starting at 10 a.m., the board will review roles, professional development and the district's school equity actions, according to agenda documents.

After lunch, the board will discuss self-assessment, bond information efforts and school building safety and security.

The last portion of the public meeting is a review of 2018-2019 goals and discussion of board goals for 2019-2020.

Starting at 4 p.m., the board will hold a closed executive session to discuss its collective bargaining strategies with the four district employee unions.
