KALAMA — An 87-year-old man was attempting to park when he crashed into the side of the Kalama Post Office Friday morning, according to Kalama police.
Chief Ralph Herrera said a 2004 Hyundai sedan driven by Tomas Ellender jumped a curb, crossed two sidewalks, and struck the side of the building at about 8:15 a.m. Friday.
No one was injured and the car did not penetrate the building wall.
Herrera said traction marks indicate that Ellender may have accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes. He was not cited but was found at fault for negligence and faces a license re-examination, according to Herrera.
