"Winter's Night at Baird House" next door to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church is officially a severe-weather shelter for youth.
The City of Longview permitted the shelter Thursday, making it the second severe-weather shelter in Longview.
Doors open at 6 p.m. every night the temperature is forecast to drop below 32 degrees. The shelter is open to youths 17-years-old and younger, and to parents with minor children.
The Baird House is at 1418 22nd Ave. next to St. Stephen's. The entrance is in the alley. Dinner is available at 6 p.m. when doors open. Check-in closes at midnight, and the shelter closes at 7:30 a.m. after breakfast.
