Wahkiakum County is lifting its emergency burn ban at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15 due to rain forecasted for the coming week, according to a press release from the county's Building and Planning Department.

All burning for land clearing, residential and forestry purposes will be allowed until further notice, the release says.

Rain or showers are predicted in Cathlamet every day next week, according to the National Weather Service.
