Three teenagers and a 22-year-old were arrested in Kalama on Monday on suspicion of first-degree robbery and felony drug offenses.

Kalama police officers broke up what appeared to be a physical fight between the four men around 12:30 p.m. near the park and ride lot on Kalama River Road, Kalama Police Chief Ralph Herrera said Tuesday.

After talking to the men individually, officers learned there may have been an attempted robbery during what appeared to be a drug transaction, Herrera said. However, the suspects gave conflicting accounts of what happened.

Police arrested 18-year-old Jasper Red Rank of Vancouver, 19-year-old Andre Ray Scheer of Chehalis and 22-year-old Austin Wayne Farrington of Chehalis on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Scheer was also arrested on suspicion of felony drug possession with intent.

Kalama resident Marques Scott Lies, 19, was arrested on suspicion of a felony drug possession.

Cowlitz County sheriff’s deputies assisted in the arrests.

The incident is still under investigation with search warrants and possibly more charges pending, Herrera said. But police don’t believe there are any other victims or suspects related to the case at this time.
