Two anonymous donors have offered reward money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever killed a Kelso cat by wrapping it in duct tape and sealing it in a backpack.
A man discovered the backpack with the dead cat inside it Sunday in the 700 block of South Third Avenue in Kelso.
One donor is offering a $500 reward. Another is offering $50 and has challenged the community to match it, Humane Society Executive Director Rick Johnson said Thursday.
According to animal control officers, someone duct-taped the Lynx-point Siamese cat’s legs together and then wrapped tape around its whole body. The cat, a neutered male, managed to free its front legs but couldn’t escape the backpack.
