A projection screen at the Regal Cinemas in Three Rivers Mall was vandalized on June 28, and a replacement will cost about $10,000, according to a Kelso police report.
The report states that a customer used a permanent marker to write a profanity-laced message about the Troutdale, Ore., police department on the screen. Although the theater tried to paint over the writing, the message still was visible and the screen needed to be replaced, manager Joshua Stickney told police on Saturday.
Nobody has been arrested. Stickney told police the suspect is about 50 years old with blond, slicked-back hair. He wore dark pants, a dark jacket and a light blue t-shirt with writing on it. Stickney told police that, according to video evidence, this man was the only person who approached the screen when the vandalism occurred.
