Rainier Days in the Park

"The whole town knows it's (The Hurricane) here. It's the loudest ride on the midway (from riders screaming)" says operator Jeffery Blair. "The Hurricane" was attracting plenty of screaming riders at the 2017 Rainier Days in the Park.

Rainier Days in the Park, the city’s signature summer celebration, takes place from Friday through Sunday and features craft and food vendors, a carnival, a parade, a long list of entertainment and a fireworks show along the banks of the Columbia River.

The celebration starts at 3 p.m. Friday and continues that day until about 10 p.m., then continues from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The fireworks show takes place at 10 p.m. Saturday.

Friday’s entertainment lineup features Ray Prestegard at 3 p.m., pro wrestling at 6 p.m. and Poison’us (a Poison tribute band) at 8 p.m.

Sunday’s events include a 10 a.m. community worship service featuring recording artist Jake Hamilton and preacher Scott McNamara. Several worship teams will perform from 1 to 5 p.m. and Jake Hamilton will perform at 5 p.m.
