Rainier city council to consider park ordinance, food truck regulations


The Rainier City Council will hear updates about Fox Creek flooding and the A Street construction project Monday night, and will discuss regulations to allow food trucks in the city.

On the council agenda is an update on the A Street beautification project, which has experienced significant delays. The construction, first estimated to be finished by last fall, is now expected to be complete by late May.

The council is also slated to hear reports on the Fox Creek culvert, small city allotment grants and a resolution for Yance Industries Hemp Processing. Nearby business have complained about odor from the processing facility, according to city documents.

Also on the agenda for Monday is discussion of regulations on food trucks, an ordinance to set rules in public parks, and a discussion of parking along Highway 30.

Finally, the council is expected to consider approving a memorandum of understanding for a police clerk position and consider taking action on an abandoned building at 29545 Old Rainier Road.

City Council meetings are held at 6 p.m. in Rainier City Hall, 106 West B Street.
