Three men were injured in a car collision early Monday morning after the driver attempted to flee state patrol officers on Ocean Beach Highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.
According to a press release, troopers attempted to pull over Victor H. Bliss, 25, of Longview shortly after midnight because the vehicle he was driving − a white 2017 Ram pickup truck − had no headlights on.
Officers signaled Bliss to pull over near 30th Avenue and Ocean Beach Highway. Bliss proceeded to flee and attempted to make a right turn on 32nd Avenue, where the vehicle hit guidewires and a pole. Bliss exited the car and attempted to run away on foot, according to a WSP report. He was apprehended nearby.
Two passengers were in the vehicle: William Farnsworth, 44, of Longview and Mark Dugger, 51, of Longview. Both were taken to St. John's Medical Center with injuries.
Bliss was arrested on suspicion of felony eluding, resisting arrest and third-degree driving with a suspended license.
