Neighbors in Need, The Daily News’ holiday season drive to help feed the needy, has reached $15,215.
The drive kicked off on Thanksgiving Day and continues through New Year’s Day.
During the drive, TDN collects monetary donations and gives every penny to the Longview St. Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army.
The newspaper pays all administrative costs.
Neighbors in Need has raised more than $1.27 million since it began in 1987. Last year, the drive collected $59,504. This year’s goal is $60,000.
The latest donations:
$500: Belva and Gordon Jarvis in loving memory of family and friends; and mom and dad in loving memory of Dennis Anthony Dietz.
$300: Laurel Murphy and Ed Phillips in memory of life’s friends; and Mary, William and Sandy in memory of Billie and Bill Stiles.
$100: Daphne O’Neill in memory of daughter Christy Stone; anonymous in memory of Cody Rickert; anonymous.
$53: Roger Cleveland in memory of Martin Cleveland.
$50: Mary Anne Johnson in loving memory of husband Karl Ray Johnson.
$20: anonymous in appreciation of all volunteers.
