The Daily News’ annual Neighbors in Need drive has reached nearly $14,000. The drive began on Thanksgiving Day and continues through New Year’s Day.

During the drive, TDN collects collect monetary donations and gives every penny to the Longview St. Vincent de Paul and Salvation Army. The newspaper pays all administrative costs.

Neighbors in Need has raised more than $1.2 million since it began in 1987. Last year, the drive collected about $55,500. This year’s goal is $60,000.
