Nearly 50 area companies to hire new employees at Woodland Works job fair

Nearly 50 area companies looking for new employees will participate in the “Woodland Works” career and job fair on Oct. 24.

The free event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at Woodland High School (1500 Dike Access Road). It is hosted by Woodland Public Schools and the Port of Woodland.

The event started last year as a career fair for high school students, but it has grown to include a three-hour job fair for workers of all ages, according to a news release.

“Employers loved meeting the students and teaching them about potential careers. However, one asked if we could also hold a job fair so companies could meet and hire area job-seekers,” said Woodland Superintendent Asha Riley said in a prepared statement. “The combination seemed like a great idea, and the response from both returning and new employers to attend this year’s event has been fantastic.”

Job seekers should bring a resume because some employers may choose to interview potential candidates and fill position on the spot during the fair, according to a news release. A complete list of companies attending the event it attached to this article online at
