Longview resident Kassandra Westom, the suspect in the Nov. 10 fatal car crash south of Rainier last year, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on allegations of negligent homicide in Columbia County.

Westom was driving southbound on Highway 30 when she attempted to make a left turn on to Laurelwood Road in front of a fully loaded northbound log truck. The truck broadsided Westom's vehicle, killing her passenger, 19-year-old Tatum Tootoosis-Didier of Longview, according to police.

Westom posted $46,250 and was released shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.
