Seattle-area cardiologist James Kirkpatrick, raised Longview, was recently advanced to full professor of medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
The son of longtime local doctor Rich Kirkpatrick of Kirkpatrick Family Care, he was also recently named Director of Cardiac Imaging at the UW Hospital and school, according to his father.
Kirkpatrick joined UW's cardiology program in 2015. He is director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at UW Medical Center, an associate professor of cardiology and an adjunct associate professor of Bioethics and Humanities. According to the university, he is one of the few ethics-trained cardiologists in the United States. Kirkpatrick also sees patients as a general cardiologist.
In 2017, Kirkpatrick was named one of Forbes' "27 Top Cardiologists."
