The Longview-Kelso area may see some snow and freezing rain late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the greater Vancouver area, the Cowlitz County I-5 corridor, the greater Portland metro area, the South Washington Cascade Foothills and Willapa Hills.

It will be in effect from 10 p.m. Saturday evening to 10 a.m Sunday morning.

In the Kelso-Longview area, the greatest chance of snow will be before 1 a.m., switching over to rain by 3 a.m., but the total snow accumulation is expected to be "little to nothing" in the area, according to the National Weather Service.

However, there could be ice patches, high wind and up to three inches of snow in some parts of Oregon, according to the National Weather Service, and drivers are urged to travel slowly and cautiously in those areas.
