Editor's Note: This story has been updated to include candidates who recently confirmed they will attend the meet and greet on Wednesday.

Kelso City Council candidates on Monday night are expected to attend one of two events scheduled for the same time.

While there are conflicting accounts regarding how the two events were scheduled, the result is half the candidates will attend a forum at City Hall while the other half will attend a meet and greet at the Kelso Senior Center.

From 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Kelso Senior Center, Keenan Harvey, Kelburn Koontz, Lisa Alexander and Mayor Nancy Malone will attend the meet and greet.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall, incumbents Jim Hill and David Futcher will be joined by candidates Thomas Loren and Chris Jenkins at a forum sponsored by the Brookhollow Home Owners Association. Doors open at 5 p.m.

On Tuesday, Longview City Council Position 1 candidates (incumbent Mike Wallin and John Melink) and Position 4 candidates (Mayor Don Jensen and Ruth Kendall) will speak to the Longview Early Edition Rotary.

The meeting begins at 7 a.m. in the Student Center of Lower Columbia College at 1600 Maple St.

Also this week, many of the Longview and Kelso candidates plan to participate in a meet and greet Wednesday at Lower Columbia College.

That event will occur from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Laufman Lecture Hall, according to a press release. Each candidate will speak for about 10 minutes and then will mingle with attendees.
