The arch is comprised of 14-foot tall upright logs topped by 20-foot horizontal logs. It was installed in 1976 to commemorate the 50th anniversary celebration of Longview’s founding in the early 1920s, the release said. They were modeled after arches used in the 1924 Pageant of Progress at the intersection of Washington Way and Vandercook Way.
