A 38-year-old Kelso man was arrested in a Portland area suburb Wednesday on suspicion of commercial sexual solicitation.
The Washington County sheriff’s office arrested Roman Cabrera Gaytan and 17 other men from various cities as part of a human trafficking operation, according to a press release.
The Portland Police Sex Trafficking Unit, the Forest Grove Police Department, the Hillsboro Police Department and the Washington County District Attorney’s Office also assisted in the operation.
Cabrera Gayten’s family reported him missing to Kelso police on Thursday and said he had not been home since noon the day before. The report states that he was heading to the Portland area to check on a potential job opportunity.
“The goal of these ongoing missions is to break a link in the chain of human trafficking by enforcing state and federal laws and developing intelligence on anyone trafficking victims in Washington County,” the sheriff’s office wrote in the press release.
