Lower Columbia Indivisible is organizing a candlelight vigil for immigrants seeking asylum at 7 p.m. Friday at the Grotto at 15th Avenue and Kessler Boulevard opposite St. John Medical Center.
Indivisible is a national left-leaning grassroots movement that formed to elect progressive leaders.

The vigil is part of a larger national event to highlight what progressive groups see as human rights abuses that immigrants seeking asylum are facing in this country, Indivisible leader Sue Rutherford said Thursday.
Speakers, local churches and progressive groups are expected to attend the event, Rutherford said.
