Drivers headed to downtown Longview on Tuesday should be aware that beginning at 7 a.m., the eastbound lane of the 1300 block of Hudson Street will be closed.

The sidewalk and front entrance to the Longview Police Department, at 1351 Hudson Street, will also be closed.

According to an LPD post on Facebook, the main air conditioning unit at the police department stopped working in late May. The street and sidewalk closure is needed to use a crane to lift an air compressor onto the roof of the police station to repair the air conditioning unit.

The police department can be accessed from a side entrance off 14th Avenue. Signs will be posted on the sidewalk directing the public on how to enter the station for police services.

Longview police will announce when the street, sidewalk and police station front entrance reopens.

Anyone with questions can call LPD at 360-442-5800.
