Southwest Washington Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler will remain on the House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies subcommittee (LHHS) in the 116th congress, according to a release from the Congresswoman’s office.
The House Committee on Appropriations has joint jurisdiction with a Senate committee over all appropriations bills in Congress. The subcommittee that Herrera Beutler will continue to serve on oversees the budgets for the United States Departments of Labor, Education and Health and Human Services.

In her time on the subcommittee during the previous congress, Herrera Beutler pursued funding for maternal mortality review committees, youth mental health awareness, improved access to organ donation, and work against the opioid epidemic.
