The Kalama Police Department will host a grand opening ceremony and tours of its new police station Wednesday.

The department moved into the $2.7 million building last week. Major downtown flooding in December 2015 forced the police to use the Kalama Community Building until the new station was finished earlier this month.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the station at 1000 East Frontage Road. The public is welcome and encouraged to park along East Frontage or down the road on N. First Street.

An open house and escorted tours of the building start after the ceremony and run until 4 p.m.

Tours will also be held on from 9 to 11 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
