Southwest Washington Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler will host a telephone town hall 6 p.m. Tuesday  with constituents to discuss health care, taxes, the economy and "whatever else is on their mind," according to a press release.
The town hall is expected to last an hour. The phone conference can also be joined by calling 1-877-229-8493 and entering the pass number 116365.
Herrera Beutler will follow up the town hall with a round table discussion on Wednesday morning with Southwest Washington school superintendents about chronic absenteeism in the United States.Â
Herrera Beutler will also discuss her proposed legislative solution titled the Chronic Absenteeism Reduction Act. The act would allow schools to use funds to create school-based mentoring programs, enhance data collection about why students miss school and emphasize alternatives to school suspensions.
The round table begins at 8:45 a.m. and runs until 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and will be held in the Howard House on Fort Vancouver, 750 Anderson St.
