The U.S. Forest Service is waiting entrance fees for recreation sites in Oregon and Washington for Veterans Day.

The fees will be waived for all guests on Nov. 10 and 11 in hopes that families will get outside to enjoy the picnic areas, boat launches and trails, according to a Forest Service press release

"This fee waiver is one small way of thanking and honoring our nation's veterans," said Glenn Casamassa, Pacific Northwest Regional Forester, in a prepared statement.  "We hope this fee-free weekend will encourage veterans, their families and all Americans to visit their national forests and enjoy the many benefits these lands provide."
