The Columbia County Medical Examiner has performed an autopsy of an 18-year-old Rainier woman but had not yet released a cause or manner of death Friday afternoon, according to Columbia County Sheriff Brian Pixley.

Sarah Elizabeth Zuber was found dead near the side of her parent's Neer City Road residence about a mile off Highway 30 Wednesday morning. She was home-schooled her entire life but participated in cross country in middle school at Rainier Jr. / Senior High School, according to KGW news, which reported that she also worked at Grocery Outlet.

The incident resulting in Zuber's death is believed to have occurred in the late Tuesday or early morning Wednesday, according to a press release. Detectives are still working to determine what caused her death.

Zuber was preparing to attend Portland University, according to a GoFundMe set up to aid her family with burial costs and other expenses.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Rainier Park.
