The City of Rainier is currently under inspection from Oregon’s Occupational Health and Safety Administration.

According to Aaron Corvin, public information officer with the agency, the inspection was opened in response to a complaint.

No conclusions have been reached yet, Corvin said. Under Oregon law, OSHA does not discuss the details of active investigations. Corvin did not elaborate on what type of complaint was made against the city.

Corvin said that investigations can take up to six months, though typically the agency finishes them much sooner than that. There is no estimated length for how long the inspection might take.

Rainier city officials did not respond to requests for comment by Friday afternoon.
