Neighbors of local racetracks started voicing concerns about noise, traffic and pollution from tracks like Riverdale Raceway and Spirit Peaks Raceway. Now, the county is hosting forums to decide if permitting changes are necessary.
Building and Planning has a third public meeting Thursday, Nov. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Woodland High School Library. The department is looking for citizens’ biggest concerns about the racetracks so they can adjust permitting and other regulations, such as hours of operation and shielding the tracks from view.
Any decided regulations will not apply to existing racetracks, only new tracks and expansions of existing ones.
