A body found along the Columbia River near Brookfield April 2 has been identified as 62-year-old Beaverton resident Scott J. Baguley.
Baguley was last seen on July 13, 2016, according to the National Missing Persons database. Eight days later, his abandoned vehicle was found in the parking lot of a church at the foot of the Lewis and Clark Bridge.
Baguley's remains were so disfigured that state officials used dental records to confirm his identity, said Wahkiakum County Coroner Dan Bigelow.
Due to the condition of the remains, Bigelow said, cause and manner of death remain undetermined. Bigelow added that no foul play is suspected at this time.
