Acting on a tip, detectives from the Lewis Regional Crime Task Force on Thursday raided a large outdoor marijuana farm located north of Morton in eastern Lewis County, according to a news release from the Lewis County Sheriff's Office.

The raid occurred in the early morning hours. Detectives seized 13,825 plants, most of them less than a foot tall, the news release said.

Several camouflaged tents, food, fertilizer, insecticides, animal poisons and gardening tools were found at the site, which was very remote and covered several acres, the news release said.

Although no one was present, detectives recovered items that they believe will lead to the identity of the suspects, the news release said.
