After 25 years on the faculty of Washington State University Vancouver, former Kelso School Superintendent Gay Selby is now permanently honored at the campus.

The school’s recently remodeled administration building tower was renamed “Selby Tower” to honor Selby’s contributions to the university. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday.

Selby was Kelso school superintendent from 1984 to 1994 and was state Superintendent of the Year in 1992.

The WSU alumna joined the faculty in 1991. Selby retired from her position as a clinical professor and educational leadership program chair in the College of Education in 2017.

In 2016, WSU awarded Selby its Faculty & Staff Outstanding Service Award. She received the WSU Alumni Achievement Award in 1995.
