Firefighters put out an early morning fire Saturday that engulfed the cab of a tool truck.
Though the fire totaled the $40,000 truck, firefighters saved an estimated $100,000 worth of tools stored in the back, according to a Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue press release.
According to the press release, a neighbor heard what they believed was the sound of the truck starting around 2 a.m., then reported that the truck was on fire. It was one of two tool trucks parked on the 200 block of Canvasback Drive. Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue wasn't sure whether the car has an automatic start feature.
The fire was under control in 17 minutes, and there were no injuries, according to the press release. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is not considered suspicious.
