Hospital board thanks donors
I thank the HealthCare Foundation of Cowlitz County for the generous donation to the PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center.
The donation will help fund a very collaborative project that will positively impact at-risk children and their families who access and utilize services of many local agencies.
The HealthCare Foundation money will be matched by PeaceHealth Community Benefit funds and in-kind donations from the LINK program to bring the Child Community Health Workers project to fruition. It will stimulate contact and action between at-risk children and their families and a myriad of local agencies to provide vital services to ensure each child is a healthy child ready to learn.
Working together as financial supporters and in-kind service providers, the HealthCare Foundation, PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center and LINK can wrap these children in vital services.
Thank you to the HealthCare Foundation for joining us in this truly collaborative program.

PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center Community Health Board
Back to School Fair a success
The annual Red Canoe/Youth and Family Link Back to School Fair recently was held at Victoria Freeman Park in Longview.
More than 600 backpacks and school supplies were provided to children in our community.
Thanks to the kind donations from the Fill the Canoe school supply drive, Red Canoe Credit Union matched all donations in order to fill the need so local children would not have to attend their first day of school without school supplies.
Other local agencies including 211 Info, the Girl Scouts, the Longview Public Library, Parks and Recreation, Columbia Wellness, the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, the Family Health Center, Fostering Together, Head Start, United Way, Molina Healthcare, FISH, and the Child and Adolescent Clinic provided games and resources so parents could learn about assistance available in the community.
