The following enrichment classes are sponsored by the Longview Parks and Recreation Department. Registration is accepted weekdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Parks and Rec office, 2920 Douglas St., Longview; or online at www.mylongview.com/reconline.

Tennis Lessons (Youth): 9-10:15 a.m. July 2-6 (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), July 16-19, July 23-26, July 30-Aug. 2, Aug. 13-16, Mint Valley Racquet and Fitness Center, 4004 Pennsylvania St., Longview; ages 7-12 (beginner players with little or no playing experience); develop proper stroke mechanics, game strategies, good practice habits; learn importance of competing with proper mental attitude to help players be their best and win more matches; lessons taught by Mint Valley Racquet and Fitness Center club staff; $45 per person in-city residents, $50 per person out-of-city residents.

Firecracker Fun Run: 6-7:30 p.m. July 3, race starts at Hemlock Plaza at Lake Sacajawea, Longview; all ages; non-competitive 5K run on path at the lake; prizes for first place overall male and female, youth and adult; free raffle drawings and refreshments for all; race starts with a confetti popper and ens with a firecracker popsicle; cotton T-shirts or tank tops available to order; deadline for shirt orders is June 22; limited number of shirts available day of race; registration begins at 5 p.m. the day of the run; $10.25 per person with a shirt; $15 per person with shirt day of race.

Adult Golf Lessons: 6-7 p.m. July 9-16 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Monday) and Aug. 6-13 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Monday), Mont Valley Golf Course, 4003 Pennsylvania St., Longview; ages 14 and older; get golf ready in five days; program designed so students will have the knowledge to step onto a golf course and play with confidence; lessons include on-course activities guided by trained instructor Steve Schadewitz; all equipment provided; if have equipment, can use own; $101.50 in-city residents, $106.50 out-of-city residents.

Soccer Co-Ed Camp: 5:30-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, July 9-13, Victoria Freeman Park at Douglas Street and Ninth and 10th avenues, Longview; ages 6-12; learn and practice the skills of soccer through activities and games; camp open to boys and girls; players grouped by skill levels; instructor Doug Waite; $30 per person in-city residents, $35 per person out-of-city residents.

Youth Golf Lessons: 4-5 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, July 9-12, or Aug. 6-9, Mint Valley Golf Course, 4003 Pennsylvania St., Longview; ages 9-13; learn the basics of golf; great for beginners or for children who have not learned proper golf swing techniques; instructor Steve Schadewitz; $62.50 in-city residents, $67.50 out-of-city residents.

Youth Kung Fu: 2-2:30 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, July 16-19 or Aug. 6-9, Academy of Kung Fu, 1236 14th Ave., Longview; ages 5-12; learn the skills and confidence to deal with self-defense situations effectively; learn KidSafe skills to deal with abduction from an adult as well as BullyProof skills to deal with assaults from children; uniform avaialble at first class for $20, but not required; arrive 15 minutes early to be fitted for uniform; no jeans; taught by certified instructor Eric Beattie; $30 per person in-city residents, $35 per person out-of-city residents.
