Filmmakers Ray and Migdalia Etheridge invite the public to an indie film festival Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Clatskanie Cultural Center, 75 S. Nehalem St., Clatskanie.

Twenty-six short films produced by indie makers from across the United States will be showcased, including several from Oregon. Genres include comedy, horror, drama, documentaries and animation.

Almost 100 entries were submitted to the festival. The films being shown were chosen by a panel of five judges who graded each film on its technical quality, on acting, on script development and on entertainment value.

Awards in various categories will be presented after each block of films.

Doors open at 12:45 p.m. for the 1 p.m. show. The second program starts at 3 p.m.

Films shown are different in each show.

Attendance at both shows is free.

Many of the films contain adult language or subject matter and therefore are not recommended for children.
