Oil Painting: 3:30-5 p.m. Fridays; ages 7 through senior citizens. Oil painting class with a focus on animals, composition, anatomy and color. Specific focus showing how to create engaging composition and on animal anatomy of a chosen subject. If student has some experience with oil paints, the focus will be on teaching more about painting style and giving suggestions on new techniques students might try to improve their style. Novice students will start with the basics (this includes a drawing lesson combined with a painting class) and work up through several sessions until they feel more comfortable with the medium. The goal is to explore the paints and have the artist develop his or her own style while learning about the animals they are painting. All skill levels welcome. $15 per class if use own supplies, $25 if use instructor Lorena Birk’s supplies.
