Longtime local resident Virginia Lee Doble, 94, of Longview died March 5, 2019, at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born April 10, 1924, in Beaver, Okla., to Garold and Hazel (Overstreet) Wagner. The family moved to the local area in 1938 and Virginia graduated from Kelso High School in 1941. She married her high school sweetheart W. Wayne Doble in 1942.
Virginia was a clerk for Sherich’s and Safeway, and a member of the Retail Clerks Union. She and Wayne were members of the Longview Country Club and the Cowlitz Boating Club. Virginia enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, league bowling and gardening.
She was preceded in death by Wayne in 2014; three brothers, Andy, Bobby and Ralph; and a sister, Rebecca.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Lee and Bonnie Doble, both of Longview; five grandchildren, Terry Bacon (Tina) of Astoria, Ore., Scott Miller (Karina) and Brian Miller (Gina), both of Portland, Susan Miller (Pamela) of San Francisco, Calif., and Michelle Bacon of Longview; eight great-grandchildren, Abigail, Nicholas, Alexis, Hannah, Amber, Jason, Olivia and Brando; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be announced at a later date.
