Vincent F. O’Rourke Sr., was born in the Bronx, N.Y., in September of 1942.
He married Sandra DeMarco. Enlisted in the Navy and served on a destroyer in Japan and Vietnam from 1960 to 1964. After the Navy and the birth of three sons, he worked full-time at Xerox Corporation, received bachelor degrees in Police Science from Cal Poly in Los Angeles, and was a reserve police officer at Alhambra PD, in California. In 1968, Vincent had a fourth child, a daughter. Around 1971 he became a full-time police officer at West Covina PD in California and retired in 1980.
In 1987, Vincent accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior with his daughter right alongside him. Then he led his three sons to the Lord.
He was widowed in 1992, and remarried in 2004 to Cindy. They lived a quiet life in the Longview/Kelso area. He passed away at the age of 76 on Oct. 15, 2018, at 2:40 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy and her three children; his three sons and a daughter; a brother; five grandsons; seven granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
A celebration of Vincent’s life is planned for 11 a.m. Nov. 17 at East Kelso Baptist Church, 111 Corduroy Road, in Kelso. The family extends this invitation to all who would like to celebrate the life of such a wonderful man.
