Shelly Wolters-Barker, age 61, of Kelso, WA, passed away May 18, 2019, at home. She was born Nov. 14, 1957, in Longview, WA, to Judy Wolters-Sweet and Morris Wolters. Shelly graduated in 1976 from Kelso High School and was an excellent athlete. During this time, you could either find her cheerleading, playing softball, swimming or playing powder puff football. Shelly moved to Alaska with her two sons, Joshua and Alan Bradley, in the early ‘80s and worked at Atlas Van Lines as an intake supervisor for 13 years. She moved back to Kelso and worked at Chicago Title. Shelly’s favorite pastimes were traveling to Hawaii or Mexico and spending time with family, especially her five grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Dale Barker, of Longview; son Joshua Bradley; grandchildren Zach, Caitlyn, Landon, Logan and Brody; brothers Greg, Jeff and Richard Wolters, of Alaska; mother Judy Wolters-Sweet; stepfather Doug Sweet, of Kelso; father Morris Wolters, of Cathlamet; and various nieces and nephews. Shelly is preceded in death by her son Alan Bradley. Donations in Shelly’s name can be given to Kelso Schools Foundation Class of ‘76 or Community Home Health & Hospice. There will be a potluck and Celebration of Life Friday, May 24, from 2-6 p.m. at the Kelso-Longview Elks.
